hooked my ipod up to my laptop, did not ask to syncronized - but still lost all my addresses on ipod and were replaced with those on my lap top ?
ipod was my master address book . how do I recover the address book nad how do i prevent the repl;acemnt form the laptop ion the future??

Restore from backup

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
To prevent on the computer go iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says "Prevent iPods...".
