Macbook Pro 15" is shutting down of security purposes

What could be wrong when my Macbook Pro 15" is shutting down of security purposes a couple times a day? Got Norton so no virus, and they ran a check at the local computer store. No viruses and nothing is suppose to be wrong after the check... Tried google it, no luck finding similar cases. it is a little over 2 years old now.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Do you have any message box telling you that your computer is being shut down becasue of security issues?

Notron itself may be the root of these 'security' issues and might be generating these messages - if I were you I would uninstall anything from Nortin according to the developer's website and see if the messages cease. If they don't, call back.

It would be really great if you could post a screenshot of the dialog box that you get before the shutdown (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5775?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US).

I'm also not sure what you mean, but would agree with what has already been said regarding Norton. It's not great at detecting Mac malware in the first place, and it is known for causing significant performance and stability problems. I strongly recommend removing any Symantec products from your Mac, which may very well solve your problem.

If you're having kernel panics (ie, you're seeing screens that tell you in multiple languages to press the power button to restart), post the most recent kernel panic log here.
