Removed my ipod nano 5g while it was syncing, now all the music is gone

i removed my ipod nano 5g during syncing and now it does not show up in itunes, in ipod it shows zero songs in the music option. But the space used up is displayed in my computer. I've tried resetting it but it won't make any difference. Please help!!
