I've got a big issue with an Ipad, it's locked and every site I visit suggests the only way to unlock once you've forgotten the passcode is restoring, this isn't an option it has valuable files inside it. I have setup an apple account on it, use it on the apple store only plus the serial. There should be a way around this even if it requires confirming ownership.

Surely if the files are valuable, you made a backup.

It's not been synced with itunes, its filled with over 2 years of pictures.
You'll have to restore. Next time, make backups, even if it's just once every few days. There is no way to get past the lock code. If there were, having this security option would be pointless.
