Updated to latest version of Adobe Flashplayer (v 13, I think) and I get "Plug-in Failure" when I attempt to play a video on youtube using Safari or Firefox. I uninstalled it and reinstalled version 11 and the version 11 debugger and all is well.
What's wrong with the new version of the plug-in?

That's not much of a workaround. They are recommending reinstalling the Flash 12 from just before the latest update to the 13.0.0.182, which was a critical update.
These updates address critical vulnerabilities in the software.

Just today, Adobe made a new version available which specifically addressed this issue on a subset of Macs built from 2006 to 2007. This updated version of Flash Player fixed the problem.
