Apr 18, 2014 1:54 AM in response to Paul_31by Roger Wilmut1,I think the problem here is the dual meanings of 'locked' - I suspect that the OP does not mean locked to a carrier, but Activation locked, particularly as it's been bought second-hand.
Of course if he can't contact the previous owner then the phone is useless.
Ahmed: if you are unable to turn the phone on, and it is asking for an ID and password, then it is Activation Locked. Only the previous owner can unlock it. If you cannot contact him then the phone is useless, and you should return it to the shop and ask for a refund. They should not have sold it to you in this condition.
