i have my mac mini connected to my samsung tv by hdmi cable, but suddenly there is no sound!!! can you please tell me how to fix it? i've tried to change the cable and the input and everything!! I'm absolutely lost!!

yes it is, but when i go to midi i can't turn the volume up

With HDMI, volume is controlled by the devicve, not on the Mini
I was having this same problem (after having no prior problems with sound) - I went through all my running apps and closed them. I actually had to force quit them (Chrome, Skype, Spotify, Viber) and when I shut down iTunes, the sound from Firefox finally started coming through the TV. I'm not sure if this shows that some running apps interfere with the Macbook's ability to use HDMI as sound output but it worked for me so it's maybe worth a try.
