using outlook for mac Password not accepted

I am using office 365 for my Macbook pro. I've changed my passowrds and have updated them on my mac. However when I input the passwords into outlook they will not work. The following error is what I see:

The server for account "Gmail" returned the error

"[AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Invalid credentials (Failure)."

Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect.

Would you like to try re-entering your password?

I'm using my gmail account and have changed the password already. I'm getting them on my IPHONE.

Yes I am inputting them correctly!!!!!
