Can't copy and paste to InDesign

Like title says... I can't copy from Mac Pages to Indesign CC on my new Macbook Pro Retina.

I have to use TextEdit instead.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Ditto using the newest Pages (6.0.5) and InDesign CS6. Turned off Calibri but can't turn off Verdana in Suitcase Fusion.

Text copied could be pasted into other documents or mail, the URL bar of Safari, Text Wrangler, or back into Pages, but not into ID CS6. I did the magazine last month without this being an issue.

Won't turn on the paste all attributes check box because I want the text to pick up the formatting of whatever I'm pasting over. (I do a whole magazine with a new article on each page including tons of photos and captions, and each headline having its own color scheme.) Opened the same word doc in OpenOffice Writer and the copy and paste works as it should.

I too am having the same issue with COPY and PASTE. Changed the preference in InDesign and can past, but lose all paragraph breaks. Everything was working fine until I upgraded to Indesign CC (2014.1). Looks like gonna have to do the workaround of pasting into TextEdit, then copying out of it and pasting in ID.

+1 on this. I'm not able to paste text copied from Numbers into InDesign. Nothing gets pasted. The contents are on the clipboard – other apps will paste gladly – but InDesign won't paste.

It's only text I'm copying, not any strange Number cells or similar.

Telling InDesign to handle "all info" is not an option for me, I have bad experience from trashy Word formatting code in InDesign so I'd like to keep things to "text only".

My workaround is to paste into Word, then copy from there (and paste without formatting). It works just fine. But it's a drag.

This seems to be a Microsoft Office font issue, it was on my system anyhow. Try switching off the Microsoft Calibri and Verdana fonts in your font manager which forces any documents created in Microsoft office to open using the Arial font when in Pages. Afterwards copy and paste should work as normal. Remember not to change your InDesign clipboard preferences to 'All', keep it as 'text only', then your pasted text will take on the current style within your document.
