Problems connecting to the App Store since installing McAfee Live Safe

We have started having problems connecting to the App Store and to the internet. The most recent software we downloaded was McAfee Life Safe. The problem is intermittent. We can reboot and get into either of these for awhile but then it locks down again. We are on a Mac Air with the latest version of Mavericks (just got the comptuer a week ago).


Any thoughts would be appreciated.

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Agree with John above. Test shows that even the newly installed McAfee Live (Internet Security) can't work properly. Try using its own uninstaller to un-install the troublesome McAfee LiveSafe. Note that, the express uninstall mode will leave lots of remnants and components in your system, such as the SiteAdvisor. For more info and helpful tips, please read this how-to article.
