Restore Backup for an iPhone 4 onto a MacBookPro

My old PC is damaged so I have started using a MacBookPro.

I'm able to put my purchased music onto the new laptop's iTunes library but I have no way of transferring the hundreds of music files that I previously had. My iPhone 4 has all of this music on it and I was wondering, since the last time I remember backing it up was on the old PC, if I restore the backup onto this new MacBook would my music files be included.

However, if this is possible, I have plugged my phone into the MacBook's USB port and it comes up on the library. Will this effect the backup?

I'm not concerned with photos or video files. My music is most important!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE: HELP ME! 😢
