I dropped my iPhone in the toilet

In january, I dropped my iPhone 4S in the toilet. It was in water for about 15 seconds. I took it out and turned on the screen multiple times and it was still working and then it stopped. I put it in rice for a week and it didn't work. Recently, I found out it was able to bibrate. I charged it and triple tapped the home buttona nd voice over started to talk, but my screen remained black. I was able to find out the touchs creen works, but the screen is still black. I was able to slide to unlock and type in my camera. I was able to locate the camera and take pictures as well. Everything works but my screen is fried. I can sync it to iTunesa nd I even found the pictures I took. What should I do? I called it and it rang as well. What should I do? Can I replace the screen? Please help.

This happened to me as well just last week. although my phone fell in only for about 3 seconds but it went off just seconds after i pulled it out.

I left it in rice for 3 days or more and nothing...

I finally went to a mobile repair shop, the guy said he gets phones like that everyday and the worst thing you can do is put in rice or let it dry out by itself. what that does, essentially, is that the water dries inside the phone itself, and the components dont really get to breathe, so they start rusting, they get spoilt and over time, even if your phone works, they will deteriorate.

so the best thing to do is get the phone opened up ASAP, and get it checked.

It's been a week for me and no issues until today. my back camera randomly stopped working and I suspect its because of the water damage...

So i'd suggest get it checked asap by apple or any other reliable repair shop and if it isn't repairable sell it off.

Your best bet is to get an out of warranty replacement at Apple, after they evaluate the unit, for $199 in the US (prices vary by region). If you take it to a "repair shop" and they open it you will get no guarantee that they will be able to fix it and/or the phone will most likely fail in the future. Once it has been "fixed" by a third party, Apple will not touch that phone ever and you will lose the option of the out of warranty replacement.
