What are the best settings in Compressor?

I generally have two main needs:

1) 16:9 films (c. 25 mins or shorter) with sound to be screened in museums/galleries. Not HD.

2) The same but online, just to give a flavour of my work (but pointless if it loses too much quality).

What are my best Compressor options? The films take forever to compress and I often find QT won't read them, or they come up with no sound.

I am hoping for two failsafe recommendations!

1) It all depends on what method is used for playback; if it's a DVD player, use one of the DVD presets. If it's played back from a computer hard drive, H.264 or an MPEG-2 Program Stream should work.'

2) For online, check with the site hosting the video to see which of the many formats they can use. Chances are H.264 will work there, too ... but always check first.

Thanks. I also meant to say it needs to be a format recognisable in iDVD. I was using:

MPEG-2 6.2Mbps 2-pass.m2v but iDVD doesn't seem to recognise it.

iDVD takes in the raw formats and compresses them itself...it doesn't recognize the DVD Preset outputs from Compressor...as it is the consumer app for this. So just export a self contained QT file, using the sequence settings, and bring that file directly into iDVD
