Macbook Air Having Problems [URGENT]

I’ve been having problems with my Macbook Air mid 2012

The battery won’t charge (service battery)

Light on the charger won’t turn on

Turns of instantly when unplugged

This may be because I download “SMCFanControl” since my mac overheats quickly. (up to 190 degrees)

I’ve tried SMC reset but i don’t see it working (yes I’m doing the steps right)

I have ordered the materials necessary to replace the battery but is there any way I can fix this problem without opening the Mac?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

If SMC reset didn't resolve the issue, it is better to take the computer to the Apple store

to have it checked out.

I've already took it and they said "the battery failed, you can either use it as a desktop or repair it". Any other way I can do it without switching the battery? I need to make sure before I switch out the battery.

Like they said the battery has failed. There's nothing else you can do besides replacing it.
