The gamma doesn't change. At all. How do I fix this?

I had this issue on my old white MacBook, and used Migration Assistant to move everything over to my MacBook Pro. Seems this gamma issue migrated with it.

Whenever I change the gamma, it stays for a fraction of a second before snapping back to normal. This happens whether I use the display calibrator assistant or a gamma option in other programs. The slider doesn't snap back though. Just the screen's gamma itself.

Does anyone have any solutions or things to try?

Hello noun_verber

Try and see if you can replicate the issue in another user on your MacBook Pro. Check out the articles below on how to do that as well as what to do if it is just your user.
