How can I get my Powermac G4 to accept the installation serial #s of my new iWork'05 software?

Seems wemight have damsged Intall Disk or optical drive problem.
In Disk Utility, try Verifying that Disc.

okay. I verified the iWork disk and got "the disk "iWork" could not be unmounted".
See if Spotlight is trying to index it, or Time Machine is working on it.
Oh, did it verify OK, or is it saying it can't verify it because it can't be unmounted?
I didn't even know that I had Spotlight and have not used it. How do I find if Spotlight is trying to index it? Index What?
I have never taken the time to set up Time Machine. Ironic in a way isn't it?😁
😝Sorry, I should have said that I tried to verify. The message said the the iWork disk could not be verified because it can't be unmounted.
In Sytem Preferences>Spotlight>Privacy tab... add all drives to that window.

Okay, let me get this clear. You want me to drag all of the folders from Finder/New Window to the Spotlight/Privacy window that Say's "Prevent Spotlight from Searching these locations"? The + icon is on the
Spotlight/Privacy window, correct? So I would highlight & click on + for each folder, correct? We are going to reverse this order when the original problem is located, correct?

Mainly we just want to put the iWork Install Disc there if we can.
It's a long shot, but running out of ideas!
So if I just put the desktop folder there, would that be enough. On my desktop right now.
there is:
#1. iWork Install Disc
#2. Install iWork (open carton)
#3. Install iWork.zip
And alot of other things including the HD and HD#1 (where iWork is, I think)
Sorry, that won't work, after clicking the plus icon, select whole Mac on left, then select your iLfe Disc as I did here with Civ3,,,
when I open my spotlight window from Finder/Preferences, it doesn't look at all like yours. Also, there is no sidebar showing Devices, places, etc. There are 14 items and the hd icon doesn't appear.
In Finder>Peferences>Sidebar, is Computer checked?
