i need help with wifi

i have wifi in my house and its not showing that theres any wifi in the area ive tried this at a few other locations with wifi and still nothing showed. i tried to hard reset the phone, resetting the network settings and resetting all settings and still nothing has worked. i have an iphone 4s with ios 7.1
