The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)

Getting 'The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)' message after trying to restore my iPhone 5s. It is not jailbroken. I purchased it new two months ago. Yesterday the "Searching..." message appeared and I did not have service. I tried troubleshooting as indicated on this website, Resetting Network Settings... Airplane mode... turning on and off... Syching... and restoring... but now its on recovery mode and I can't restore... please help!!!
