Same issue like everyone else, FaceTime stopped working on all of our devices since Thursday April 17th.

Devices affected:

Four iPhone 4S all running iOS 6.1.3

Two iPad 3rd Generation both running iOS 6.1.3

Two iPad 4th Generation both running iOS 6.1.3

One iPod Touch 4th Generation running iOS 6.1.6

We can't use FT between any of these devices. Calls go through, but connection gets lost as soon as you try to answer incoming calls. We reset Network Settings on all devices, signed out of FT and logged back in, but still no luck.

Same issue here on April 18th :

- between 2 iphones running iOS 7

- between one iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.3 and one Mac Book Air purchased less than a month ago, so probably running the lates OS.

Like everyone, calls go through but stays at the "connecting" stage and never connects.

It is weird that Apple is acting as if nothing is happening. Quite a few articles have started coming up on the matter (http://www.cnet.com/news/facetime-for-ios-6-not-working-users-report/) and given that only a small proportion of people with problems will be posting here, I guess the issuegoes beyond a few isolated cases.

Hello,

Apple is aware of the issue.

I would encourage everyone who has the issue to call AppleCare. The more calls they received, the more impact we'll make on the resolution of this specific problem.

Please make sure to have follow these steps first : http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3367

Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

Feel free to use any software you want.

For those who are experiencing this issue, the best is still to make sure that you followed the appropriate troubleshoot, and to call Apple.

If a high volume of calls is received by AppleCare employees, reports are sent to the engineers. The more reports they sent, the fastest this issue will be acknowledge and solved.

Thank you for your participation and patience.

I really got a funny answer from Apple Support Germany. They think the Thailand government maybe blocked facetime and they can not help me. What a Bullsh... I am really disapointed to hear such lame excuses instead of trying to help a customer.

I hope someone from Apple US will fix the problem soon.

Good Luck to everyone.

Same problem here.

FaceTime suddenly stopped working on Thursday for me.

Both my iPad and phone will ring, try and connect but just say "FaceTime failed".

My mums iPad does the same things and all my friends with iPhones are having the same issue no matter what iOS they are on.

(I'm on the latest 7.1 and I can't FaceTime anyone no matter what version they have.)

Just using skype for now but pretty poor show on apples part.

Looks like the problem is still going on today April 19 th. I have talked to Apple support twice. I have been advised it is a problem with ios6 they are supposedly working on it. We can upgrade to IOS 7 no problem there. My mom has an iPad 2 she is elderly I don't want to change things and she is very comfortable with the icons the way they are now. I don't want to have to train her to use the newer format.. Plus we are not home and FaceTime makes so easy to communicate. Apple has to realize FaceTime is extremely important in some families, plus there are reason why some people do not want to upgrade to IoS7. They normAlly are very good supporting their older technology so I am hoping this is just a glitch. You would think they would have advised us if they were going to shut down FaceTime for ios6 permanently .

Does anyone have an estimated time for the repair. Apple either did not know or would not tell me when I called.

First, you may think Apple is aware....but their staff states that they are unaware. At least Keisha, Nathan and Mark do (two of whom are supervisors). They spent four minutes trying to get me to renew my Apple Care which doesn't expire for 3 months.

Mark was convinced it was my issue with iOs7.1, which I'd updated the day it became available.

I did call Apple - three times and was greeted by Keisha who tried to upsell me, but admitted she didn't know anything about it. "sorry".

The I spoke with Nathan who spend most of the time saying "awesome" after having me turn off, turn on, reset, etc....my phone. I told him it was all my devices, my 2 daughters, my friends, my spouse, my son-in-law, in NC, WA, CA, VA, and LA.

Mark- super snippy, after 20 minutes, got very rude and stated with as much sarcasm as he could muster (which was a lot)...."so this couldn't possibly be your problem, must be Apple's, right?" Then said I'll send it to the engineers, but sounds like you need to make sure you renew your AppleCare." Seriously???

So while you advise folks to read the forums before posting something that was already answered....consider that there are many, many, misinformed people on these forums. Most of the misinformation, or lack of information is coming directly from Apple.
