Also iOS7 comes meanwhile with many versions. Do you and all your family and friends have the latest iOS 7.1 installed?

It seems Apple really pulled the plug on FT support for 'older' versions. The FR-support document was updated yesterday starting that both devices must be updated to the latest iOS version for FT to work.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3367

Guess that's it for FT on iOS6 and other non-iOS 7.1 devices (including all jailbroken iOS7.0.x devices...)

Just contacted Apple support....whoah! According to them (Mark), this must be my just my issue (not very helpful). I told him that it was all my devices, both my daughter's devices, my sister, my niece, my son-in-law, two friends....all of who which do not live near me, or use the same server. He took my information and will submit it to the engineers after I reset my devices...for a third time.

Unbelievable. I been having the same issue.

    ios7 (iphone5) --> ios6 (dad's ipad2,relative's ipad2, friends iphone4) . None of these work.

But works without issues across ios7(iphone5)-->ios7 (iphone5,ipad3)

Unfortunately, upgrading is not easy in this case as the folks are not tech savvy.

'Mark' may not have gotten any calls about the issue yet, because the Senior Advisor I talked to confirmed that it's an issue they're addressing right now

My troubles with this started last night (April 17).  At least that was when I first noticed it.  My iPad 2 iOS 7.0.4 was unable to connect with various iPods, iPads and Minis running iOS 6.  Then this morning I tried to connect to my wife's iPad 4 running iOS 7.1 ... no joy.  I *then* updated my iPad 2 to iOS 7.1 as well and bingo!  Connection with my wife's iPad worked.

So it looks to me like FaceTime is broken for any iOS other than 7.1 and all parties need to be on board ... which really ***** because my nephew's iPod Touch Gen 4 will never be able to run that iOS.  Ho hum ... hope this gets resolved, yah.

We have been FTimg across 3 iPads nearly every day for nearly two years between MD, TX, and NC in order to stay in touch with our family.   Other than the usual connection is poor, it has worked perfectly.  Since Thursday none of us can FT.   One ipad is on ios7, the others must be on 6 since their purchase in July 2012.

I was on the phone with Apple support for one hour yesterday. And then in the store with an Apple genius for an hour. They could do nothing to fix my miPhone iOS 6 and iPad iOS 6 and acted like they did not understand FaceTime not working. My personal opinion is it's intentional… Apple is trying to force everyone to update their equipment or upgrade to iOS 7. Apple has stop supporting  iOS 6 FaceTime.

There is definitely something dubious happening on Apple's part. They won't even acknowledge there's an issue on their status page.  Even when there's a minor issue affecting a "small number of users" they at least show that.  I jumped thought their hoops, and did a full factory erase on my iPad and iPhone, and FaceTime still wouldn't work. Factory fresh, and no FaceTime. So it's definitely NOT the device.

And how does that theory account for the numerous users on iOS 7 or OS X with the same FaceTime issue?

I suspect those people are trying to facetime with iOS 6 and OS X 10.8 users.  It just takes one device to be iOS6 or OSX 10.8 for FaceTime to fail.

BTW, how long have you worked for Apple?

If you check across some of the forums you will see that facetime problems are widespread.  I am sure Apple is working on the issue

For approximately the same length of time you've worked for the bureau of misinformation ;-)

I have the same problem from 16th. All are iOS7 devices (iphones/ipad), but still have this problem.

Judging by all the posts on the forum, there seems to be an issue at Apple's end, although they have made no announcement on their status page. Some users have reported that Apple is aware of the issue.

Me and my Girlfriend have been having issues with facetime since Thursday it was working late afternoon early evening and then by 8pm EST could not get it to connect, and still unable to connect we both did the normal trouble shooting methods and went as far as checking out wi-fi connections.

Apple is still showing on their status page Facetime is fine but its not and now IOS 7 users are having the same issues. My girlfriend's ipod and mine are both ios 6.1.6 which is the most up to date software versions. if they pull or pulled the plug on IOS 6 and under we cant drop X amount of dollars for new tech
