Apr 19, 2014 6:04 PM in response to diddl14by Applejac1,On the 18th of April, I along with the rest of my family members all started having the "FaceTime connection issue" around the same time and day. It only seemed to effect our iPhones. As we could FT ipad to ipad or iPod to ipad and vice versa with no problem (all on different iOS')... Our phones where on the iOS 6.1.3...
I opened a support chat with an apple tech and they couldn't tell me why this happening and had "no clue" as to why this was happening, I even referred them to this link :)... However, they told me that I would need to upgrade iOS.... I was really trying to hold off upgrading, but wanted the FaceTime feature to work. So, after trying everything possible to make FaceTime work without upgrading and having no success, I upgraded the device. I tried FaceTime and it works fine.... I think Apple was doing some kind of maintenance on the 17th, after that many people (globally) started having issues with FaceTime.... Go figure... "I think it was a Conspiracy, to force everyone to be on the new iOS" ;-)
Anyway, Upgrade it, you will feel like you have a new device! I'm glad I did!

Apr 19, 2014 6:12 PM in response to Tdymentby DukToonz,Well, yesterday after I upgraded all devices to iOS 7.1, FaceTime worked a champ.
Today, it doesn't matter what iOS I'm running including 7.1, all fail. bleh
The Tango App works as a failsafe, but I/we hate it. :grumble:

Apr 19, 2014 7:25 PM in response to Tdymentby gundamrose,I also have the same problem around 16th, I don't believe it is ios 6 or version problem, I have the ipad air, it should be the most up-to-date version that apple using, I plan to take it to the apple store to see if anybody there can help. But I feel a little relieve that I am not the only one having this problem, and it looks like it is on apple's end not my ipad. I got my ipad air around last thanksgiving, don't tell me my ipad is broke, apple product should be better than that.
I wonder anyone here actually telling apple people about the problem or just have a discussion here? I think if more people complain to apple directly, may be they will fix the problem sooner, can anyone tell me how I can complain the problem to apple? Many thanks.

Apr 19, 2014 7:28 PM in response to gundamroseby gail from maine,Apple knows. Many of the posters who have spoken to Apple Support have been told by the representative they are speaking to that the problem is known. It's inconvenient, but it will, eventually, get fixed. Patience.

Apr 19, 2014 10:50 PM in response to Stutz Jrby gail from maine,This is total malarky. There is an issue with FaceTime. It has nothing to do with iOS 6, or iOS 7, or Mavericks, or Mountain Lion, or anything else. It is a problem that is not discriminating amongst iOS or OSX users....
Things like this happen sometimes. They sometimes get rectified immediately, and sometimes it can take two or three days for it to get sorted.
There is nothing to do but wait until it gets cleared up. No need to udpdate software or presume that Apple is conspiring to take over the universe.

Apr 20, 2014 2:11 AM in response to Tdymentby YangJin,I am having problems as well, started on the 17th. Upon "connected", it just ends the call. However, the people whom I have tried to call were able to Facetime one another just fine. They are using iOS 7 but there are people who are having this issue with iOS 7 as well.
I, on the other hand, am not using iOS 7, instead I'm using iOS 5.1.1. (didn't like the new interface so I didn't upgrade and becaus some people got their data wiped when upgrading 5.1.1 to 6 so back then I didn't bother and when iOS 7 came out, I didn't bother either).

Apr 20, 2014 4:08 AM in response to gail from maineby terrifromwv,It may be a problem with FaceTime (which I absolutely believed), until I found that my daughter had not upgraded ti iOS7.1, as soon as she did -- FaceTime worked. Not at all happy with Apple.
