Canon c5030 "Printer in Use Error"

We have the Canon ir-adv c5030 wired to an Airport unit - Ethernet, for 2, wireless for one user. Recently we have all been getting the "Printer in Use" error when sending a job. We are all running OS 10.9.2 and either the UFRII 10.3 or 10.2 drivers.

Had this problem in the past but I don't recall how I fixed it.

This time around, it seems that the driver isn't waking the Canon unit out of sleep. If I manually power-up the copier from sleep, then it seems to want to print. If another user jumps in with a job, we're back to the "Printer in Use" error.

Thoughts anyone?
