since downloading mavericks,time line on logic pro 8 leaves behind a black back ground but corrects when adjusting the resolution,a real pain in the nether regions.Any ideas?.....Cheers

Yes, but you won't like it: roll back to Mountain Lion or upgrade Logic. Many people trying to use older versions of Logic with Mavericks are experiencing this and other issues. Logic 9.1.8 seems to be okay, and of course Logic Pro X. See these threads:
