My mac is acting weird

I have recently noticed that whenever I get on the internet I have a bunch of ads pop up everytime I click on a link. They are usually all the same ads. I have checked my security, removed cookies, ran a scan with ClamXav and tried even just restarting my computer and can't seem to get them to stop. I sometimes use sketchy websites to watch movies and this could possibly be the reason for these pop ups. Is there anything else I should check or anything I can do?

install Ghostery to remove pop-ups

also removes all youtube commercials

I'm almost certain it is. Don't ever download anything from these websites that they claim is required to watch as it will always contain adware or worse. It really isn't worth it to frequent such sites.

Check the Adware Removal Guide to see if you recognize anything.
