Hi! I am going to be buying an ibook g4 and was wondering if there is a way to update to os x lepoard without an install disk. Is there a update now button? Also is it a free update from tiger. I am a first time mac user so I don't know. Thanks!
1. No, there isn't.
2. Leopard is a paid upgrade. Buy a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.
10.5 removes compatibiltiy with Classic, which are applications from before 2002. Be sure to clone backup before upgrading in case you have older software that requires it.
