The one you used to passcode lock your iPhone.
If you forgot then read this:
Forgot or Wrong Passcode
I do have a code that opens the ipohne. But this does not work when I want to reset the iphone.
Go to Settings/General/Restrictions. Is it turned on? If so you will need your Restrictions passcode that you created when you first turned on Restrictions.
I do not know whether I had a code for this. The present code does not work.
Is it specifically asking for a 4 digit code, or is it asking for an Apple ID and password?
Under Settings > General, what does it say next to 'Restrictions'? If it says 'On', then you or someone else created a Restrictions Passcode, which may or may not be the same as your Lock Passcode.
If you cannot remember this Restrictions Passcode, you'll need to use this article: iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering ...
it asks a four digit code
Yeah, sounds like you have Restrictions enabled, and have disallowed changes to accounts. Hence you cannot get into mail account settings. The only solution is to restore your phone from a abckup prior to the restrictions passcode being set, or restore it to factory settings if no such backups exist. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414. If you have trouble restoring or it asks for a passcode when trying to restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
I have reset my iphone by icloud, lost iphone function. The back up was done before.
Now I try to restore it, it says since hours: activation is taking place, it may take a few minutes.
I have already closed the iphone and opened it again.
Therefore I cannot open the sim card. I am using Wlan, as when going on iTunes it said that the iphone is not activated.
Sorry, in iTunes it says: to open sim first.
now it said: the activation server does not work......
Possible causes:
1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.
2. Your phone is jailbroken.
3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.
4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).
For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer.
I did the following:
1. I deinstalled the antivirus. I closed firewall.
2. This is not possible as it was me who closed the phone with find your iphone, when the iphone was on my desk.
3. Nobody had access to my computer, I did not see any problems before.
4. I tried several hours later as well.
4. gs.apple.com cannot be opened.
Can I go to an Apple shop?
