Logic Pro X crashing

All of a sudden, in the middle of mixing and mastering a single for release, LPX starts crashing constantly at the same point (SMPTE Time) in the project playback or bouncing. It seems that something is in my data stream now that is causing this, but I have NO idea of how to find the problem in my project.

*** error for object 0x7fd460cda808: incorrect checksum for freed object - object was probably modified after being freed.

I updated my NI Komplete9 software, but the problem persists.

I even RE-INSTALLED Mavericks!!!! No glory from that pain, either.

Can anyone tell me how to track down what is causing these crashes? I have to get the master out by the weekend, and I can't afford to retrace my steps over the past few weeks!

1. Load the project. Do not touch the play button/command yet.

2. Turn off all plugins (FX and instruments), using their little power button left in the slot. Set your cycle to one or two bars, so that it includes the "crashpoint".

3. turn the plugins back on one by one, until the crash happens. The most likely culprit is an instrument, not an fx plugin. You could also first try it with only the instruments disabled.

Also, look in your crash report to see if any specific plugin is mentioned in or near the crashed thread. You can access earlier crash reports via the Console app, found in Applications>Utilities.

Nope. It is something in LOGIC because I not only have disabled the plugins, I have taken all of them out of the project completely by resetting all the channel strips. I am 100% audio tracks, no instruments loaded at all. The thread that is crashing is Thread 0, and all there is all around it are Core Audio, Core Foundation, and all low-level Apple foundation class stuff (plus Logic, which is what is crashing). It's busted, I think. I might be screwed by a LOGIC PRO bug. This happened when I started using Flex Pitch for the first time, but I have been working with it for days with only occasional crashes. But it crashing at all is a new thing for me. Never happened before this, and I have been using it for pro-quality work since LP7. Maybe something is getting injected into the audio files... ****, I don't know, but Apple could probably fix this if they paid attention.

I can't afford this aloof Apple BS anymore. I might HAVE to go to ProTools, but Avid is even worse!

Okay, that did help. Thanks!

It didn't fix the problem, but I incrementally built up a new project via importing the tracks in a controlled way. I found the problem to be corrupted vocal audio files. The original files are okay, but something happened in my editing process to corrupt the copies in my project's audio files folder. I didn't have time to track down which edit caused the corruption (or coincided with some other influencing factor). Neither was I able to preserve all the Flex Pitch edits, and I'm starting over on 8 tracks of audio that need a lot of post-prod *help*.

So, thanks Eriksimon for at least getting me back doing edits instead of troubleshooting and doing software installations. I do appreciate your help... I'm just very conscientious about meeting deadlines, and I will miss this one. I get crabby. ;-)
