My mouse will not scroll

What mouse, wired or wireless? What have you tried to do to resolve the matter?

My wireless mouse won't scroll either. Just started! It's barely over one year old! I have changed batteries, Cleaned the surface area with a cloth, and searched this site for more ideas. Do you have some?

The cursor movement is controlled through the sensor in the bottom (near the green light).

Is that green light showing as on? You could try cleaning the sensor with a damp, not wet, cotton bud and white vinegar. Disconnect the batteries first.

Thanks for the idea. I actually called Apple Customer Care after I wrote my message and the mouse was fixed by shutting off iMac, unplugging for 30 sec, restarting while holding command, option, P, and R buttons until the second start up sound... no more steps were required!

Great solution! It worked! After reading your solution, I remember having a different issue some time ago and the Apple Tech had me to this very same thing and BAM, problem solved. Hope I can remember to try the PREP solution next time I have a small nuisance problem with my system. Thanks BW
