I am importing my CD collection and I noticed that when I play any of my songs back that they are really low. I can hardly hear them without turning up the volume all the way on both the speakers and my MacBook Pro. When I higher the volume, the sound is clear, no water damage or anything. Also, my speakers work fine for YouTube, system sounds, etc. it's only my iTunes library that has a low volume.
Please help!

Any chance you changed the equalizer settings?
To check... open the Equalizer window using the menu item "Window > Equalizer"
Now check the Preamp gain (the slider on the very left). Make sure it is set somewhere around 0 dB
The equalizer settings show it is on "Flat" (could this be the reason?), and all of the dials are in the middle of the bars.
Also check the volume setting in iTunes.

I am using an app called boom. It works!! It boosts the volume very effectively
