Why is sound coming from wrong speakers?

Hello,

I am sound mixing my short film in 5.1 and 7.1. I have all the surround settings correct and can bounce fine. The problem is a section of the film doesn't work as it should. First it was the music track in that as it got louder it faded a little- I realized that the problem was when bouncing I needed to turn off normalize. Now the other problem is that during this part the dialogue shifts over to the surround speakers- it is only at this point where the music gets loud.

Any idea why this may be and how to resolve it?
