Tracks appearing on more than 1 CD are dropped

When I import a CD which has tracks already in the library but which are on a different CD (for example a studio album and a live album), only the tracks that are not in the library get imported. My library shows the imported CD but with gaps where the dropped tracks should be.

Any suggestions?
