MacBook / Safari issue with facebook images (thumbnails)

Hi all,

I've got this weird issue for about a week now and it's driving me crazy so I thought I'd check if anyone else has it.

Basically a big random number of the profile pictures of my friends do NOT load at all when I open Facebook (tried both Safari and Chrome). Nothing I've tried works so I'd appreciated an advice.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.

Click Details. Type Facebook in the search field top right side of that window. When you see the results, click Remove All.

Now empty the Safari cache.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.

Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar

Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.

Quit then relaunch Safari then try Facebook.

Thanks very much for the fast reply Carolyn.

Upon doing this everything was almost as normal (just a few thumbnails missing here and there).

Did all as suggest, restarted Safari and BOOM no thumbnails at all this time! The below image is from my chat, but it's also on my feed etc.

In the meantime I've also noticed that my iPhone is affected as as well. I was unable to view some of the profile pictures of my friends AS WELL as some pictures posted by friends ... it just loads forever and nothing happens.

I think this has to go down to my router / ISP, but I'd still appreciate some help into what exactly I should do. Many thanks! 🙂
