Q: ipod touch 3rd gen setup problem

i have a 3rd gen ipod touch 32gb that i b/ought recently. i restored it to the newest available version which is 5.1.1 i believe, and am trying to sign in with my apple id but it keeps saying "there is a problem connecting to server" the first few optioms during setup did npt give me an option to connect to any wifi networks. i really need help!

Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem
