my final cut is not seeing my camera to import video? help me?

I have Final Cut Pro 7.03. And I edit on Mac book pro OSX the latest update
Camera? What format does it shoot? What frame size and frame rate did you shoot?
For example...is it an AVCHD camera...and did you shoot 1080p60? If so...FCP won't convert it because it doesn't work with non-standard formats, and 1080p60 is non-standard.
But that is a shot in the dark...because I have no details.

Possibly...try swaping out cables. Trash your FCP preferences. Note that FCP isn't officially supported on Mavericks OS because it was discontinued by Apple 3 years ago, so they don't keep compatibility with it in mind anymore..
First, with the camera connected via firewire to your mac, go to applications: utilities: system profiler and make sure the firewire is showing the camera. If not, it's possible the firewire port is burned out on the camera or on the computer. You can also try swatting out the firewire cable.
HDV is always a little tricky. Make sure your easy setup matches your shooting format. If I remember correctly, the camera may shoot some formats that are not compatible with capturing in fcp. You can usually display the shooting format in the cameras lcd format. Let us know what it is.
When you've matched the fcp easy setup to the format you've shot, quit final cut, start the camera playing with a video signal, and then launch fcp and start log and capture and see if the camera is recognized and if there's video in the log and capture window.
