Try trashing facetime.plist files.
You find these in Users / yourself / Library / Preferences.
Look for files with names that begin com.apple.FaceTime, and end with .plist.
First quit FaceTime, then trash the files.
Now restart FaceTime.
I did that, and nope, still nothing, call doesn't go through.
Could this be some problem on apple's side? cause it's really weird as it was working perfectly 2 days ago
Can you receive calls?
Judging by all the posts on the forum, there seems to be an issue at Apple's end, although they have made no announcement on their status page. Some users have reported that Apple is aware of the issue.
I can recieve calls, it rings, shows the contacts name, i anwser it and the same thing happen, the call doesn't go through, just drops.
Hope that's the case, cause i already looked up every trick on the book and nothing helps.
You could try using Skype. Of course the folks at the other end will have to do the same.
yeah, of course, but facetime is (was) more reliable. And what the ****, i have it, i wanna use it,haha
If you have a backup, restore version 1.0.2. I experienced the same problem after the update and restoring the older version fixed FaceTime.
Yeah, but i have the 1.0.2 version and i have the same problem 😕
I was having the same problem, I logged out of Facetime and logged back in, and presto, it worked. just got off a call with my Wife in Germany. Good luck.
By any chance is apple still trying to fix the problem with FaceTime? I've been experiencing this exact same problem with calls failing as soon as you go to answer a receiving FaceTime call. It's been nearly two weeks since it has worked properly. I recently updated my MacBook Pro to the OSX update and still no luck.
If you are running Snow Leopard, I just read on another discussion there is a FaceTime update to 1.0.5.
I have same issue here. Using Mac air with OS 10.7.5 .
It was working fine 2 years, with same OS. to call iphone 4 doesn't have any issue.
What I did just change my yahoo e-mail password last week.
I wonder if that will cause this conncetion lost ?
Facetime call won't go through, fails everytime
