Apr 19, 2014 10:45 AM in response to Alchromaby Dewjack,Thank you Alchroma, I learned the technique, but unfortunately it seems the sunlight is too bright in the original footage so there simply seems to be nothing but white there. I only manage the get my highlighted spots either almost black or just as overexposed as before while the rest of the image neatly changes.

Apr 21, 2014 12:01 PM in response to Dewjackby MartinR,★HelpfulYou might try Captain's Blowout Fixer, a little known plugin written by Patrick Sheffield some years ago. I tried it and it does work for moderately overexposed footage. BTW, the other free plugins on Pistolera's site are very interesting. I have especially enjoyed playing with the two Technicolor plugins.

Apr 22, 2014 6:28 AM in response to Dewjackby MartinR,They work perfectly fine with Final Cut Express. I have used them for years.
Just put them in /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Express Support/Plugins. Except for Luma Toy, which seems to want to be in /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins

Apr 23, 2014 1:49 PM in response to MartinRby Dewjack,I tried it, the app works fine like you said but the areas I wanted to correct are just too blown out, completely blown out even, there is no information in there.
