First time iCloud user

I need to free up usage on my phone in order to update to ios7, how do I transfer photos and videos to iCloud?

If they were purchased from the iTunes store, they are already in iCloud. If you delete them from your device, you should see an iCloud download symbol appear next to them so they can be redownloaded. They can also be streamed from iCloud once you're running iOS 7.


However, some studios don't permit redownloading, and it isn't available in all countries. Before deleting them, it's best to import them to your iTunes library on your computer so you'll know you'll have them. To do this, connect your device to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
