iCloud download iTunes issue

I only like to show certain columns in iTunes when I am listening. I usually listen in the "Songs" area, not the artist or album etc. (I want it to jump to each song and this doesn't happen in any other view). Anyway, after I pause iTunes and go away for awhile (like overnight) and then come back to iTunes, the column for "iCloud Download) is always back. I right click on the top and deselect it so I don't have to look at a column of nothing, but then it comes back randomly. Any one experience this, and have a way to make it go away forever?
