I already have a SKY router in my living room but want to replace it with the Airport Express I have. My mac tells me to remove the phone cable from the sky router and connect it to the Airport Express wan socket but then nothing happens. Help!
you can't do this, you still need your ISP box to bring internet into your home, technically speaking it is a modem+router while any airport is only a router
without a modem, you won't get internet

So there is no way of using it as the sole router and basically it is just a wifi extender?
No matter what you try, you still need an ISP modem in your home, so you'll always shave 2 boxes unless you want to use only the ISP modem/router
