I have an old 3G iPhone that I want to turn into an iPod my new iPhone is a 4s. How do I do that? I still have my old sim card in the 3G and the SIM card in my 4s doesn't fit, so I'm a bit confused on how to make this happen. Can anyone help me?

Since you have the old SIM, you will not need to use anything out of the 4S. It should activate just fine with the old SIM after you wipe the phone and then restore it.
I'm having the same issue. Old 3gs - has working as an un-updated ipod (I think it was OS 4 something). Then I made the mistake? of plugging it into iTunes to update. Now the SIM isn't recognized. And naturally, the SIM from my 4S won't work as a substitute. Did the upgrade render the SIM useless somehow? Thoughts?
