Airplay stopped working

All of a sudden none of my ios devices are able to connect to the Apple TV via Airplay. The Airplay icon shows up in the Control center on my Iphone 5s and my ipad 3. If I choose to airplay, the music doesnt stream to my Apple TV. It tries to stream, but after about 5 secs, it disconnects from Airplay.

I cannot mirror my ios devices either. Interestingly, I can mirror my Macbook Pro displat to the Apple TV. But that is the extent of it.

I have the latest updates on my Apple TV, my iPhone 5S, ipad 3 and my Macbook Pro.

I have even tried factory resetting my Apple TV and all my ios devices. But none of that has helped.

Anyone experiencing this? Please help.😟

Power cycle the router.

I am having the same problem, it was working fine one day then the next both my ipad and iphone airplay stopped working.

Ok. I think I have found a solution. If you have a dual-frequency router like I do, all you need to do is go into your router settings and set different SSIDs for your 2.4GHz and 5Ghz networks. Doing that has fixed my airplay issue instantly. Enjoy!!

Do you know why that would work? I am trying to understand how everything worked one day then stops and that change would fix it. What caused that to suddenly become an issue?

Many newer routers create separate networks for the wired and wireless networks. If it is a dual band router, it may even create separate networks for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. This is done to "sand box" the networks.

If your router does this, either disable the feature or be aware that is occurs so you understand why AirPlay works sometimes and not others.

Personally I have my 2.4 and 5Ghz networks named differently, although my ATV is connected to the Wired network.

I have a macbook pro and got it in may and it was working fine with airplay but now its just gone!! I went to system preferences and its saying no device found! we've got iPhones, iPads and iPods in the house and they are all working but nothing on my macbook, my iOS are unto date and the Apple TV up to date. i'm quite new to owning a mac and have not tinkered around. Ive had my mac 4 months should i take it to apple to have a look? Air Play working on all our other apple products.

Ive not changed any settings on my dual router either!! Gutted and feel pathetically useless😢😢😢
