when my screen is black watching something it has a slight white ring in the center of it. Why?

when my screen is black and im about to watch a tv show or movie there is a faded white ring in the middle of my screen. Why?? How can I get rid of it?

What year is your MBP? Glossy screen or matte? I had an older one with a matte screen and some light bled through the Apple logo on the back of the screen.
