I bought an 09 from factory {MacPRo2,1}, have done regular updates including purchasing Snow Leopard, just got the "Could not complete purchase, cannot be installed on this computer...learn more" - this computer meets the requirements. What the ****?!?!

*****Although I bought it in 2009, I am reading on the forums that it is a 2007 model technically. Bought it straight from the Apple "build it site", use(d) it for post production, editing. What needs to be purchased/upgraded to get the new operating systems? It's set up, raided, etc - I definitely need a New Graphics/Display ~ I really got screwed on that purchase. Would like to spend less than $2K for upgrades as I already dished out $8k back in the day. God tech has come a long ways in the past 5 years FML!


Out of warranty/Please help!!! - I need to get this 'functional/current' in the most inexpensive way possible.


Recommendations GREATLY appreciated!!!

MacPro 2.1s were introduced in April 2007 and discontinued in January of 2008. Lion is the limit for that model.


MacPro 3.1 was introduced in January 2008. It can run the lates OSX versions.


Requirements for Mavericks and Mountain Lion, the dates refer to the model introduction:
