When Airport Express is blinking amber is the network secure? In other words, is it safe to do online banking?

My Airport Express constantly goes from 'green' to 'blinking amber'. When this happens, the Airport Utility window shows 'blinking amber' to the left of my network name and a '1' in a red circle to the right. Is the network secure. i.e. can I safely do online banking? I suspect the culprit is Time Warner, but unplugging my modem only corrects the problem some of the time. Any suggestions or answers?

Use AirPort Utility and click the amber dot. It will tell you the reason it's blinking.

As long as you secured your wireless network with WPA / WPA2 security using a non-trivial password, yes, it's as secure a method as there is at present. It's just as important to keep your Express in a location inaccessible to anyone untrustworthy.
