Macbook / iBook

i just ordered my new macbook, base model.

my mate used to have an ibbok and told me that there is an apple logo on the lid which lights up, is this true for the ibook, and is it the same for the new macbook ?

Laptop, Windows XP Pro, Macbook On Order

Yes that is true for the iBook and for the MacBook and the MacBook Pro.

Oh and the Mac mini.

The mini has the logo... but it doesn't light up.

it lighted up only for the macbook and macbook pro.

no light here with iMac.

They use the backlight for the LCD display to light the logo. Since there is no backlight in the mini... no lit logo... and since all the computer components are behind the LCD in the iMac, they can't use the back light to light it.
