Web journal keeps crashing.

I am using web journal in iPhoto on an iPad3.

I have created a journal which is clearly too long. It is slow and often crashes. I decided yo duplicate the journal so I could delete pages from both so I ended up with two journals from the original one. Hence making it faster and more reliable.

Now I am unable to edit either journal as they crash on pressing the edit button.

Advice welcome, please.

Tony, there is no known limit to the size of journals. If iPhoto starts crashing, it is usually due to having imported media that cannot be processed (incompatible videos, corrupted photos) or simply, not enough free space on your device. Check the free memory on your iPad. If duplicating the Journal made the problem worse, it is a strong indication that you are running out of memory. Editing a journals needs ot of free space for formatting the photos.

I memory is no problem, try to remember, which photos you added to your journal most recently, and then delete them from your camera roll after saving your coamera roll to your computer.

Also, try the general trouble shooting measures described here: it may be a system problem and not an iPhoto problem.

My device has 15gb memory so this should not be a problem.

15GB that are still free?

I use video and pictures taken on the iPad so they should be comparable.

yes, they should be compatible. But pictures can become corrupted.

I have not added to this journal for several months.

So the problem may have been caused several month ago and it would not help to restore from your latest backup. Uninstalling iPhoto will delete the application data, so that would be the last thing to try. Have you tried the basic fixes - restart - reset - restore the iPad? Perhaps it is a system issue preventing iPhoto from working properly.

See this document for resetting etc: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281

BTW: Which versions of iPhoto and iOS are you using?

Web journal keeps crashing.
