Brother Scanner

I have a Brother MFC-8952DW. To scan, I have to use the unstable Vuescan, because the MFC doesn’t show in the list of devices at Image Capture. What can I do to change this?

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
