Keith - many thanks for sharing this. I wasted 3 hours yesterday following various suggested fixes, all to no avail. Uninstalling Rapport has worked for me. My stress levels have dropped and I can look forward to a relaxing bank holiday weekend. Thank you, Brian -

Aug 21, 2014 10:57 AM in response to wegrasby Kcpvwill,Hi Peter,
I'm in the UK so your theory may be correct. I've also heard from Trusteer support and they are investigating so there may be a fix in the offing.

Aug 21, 2014 12:10 PM in response to Kcpvwillby Buckethead004,Thank you so much for pointing out the fix. This had been driving me nuts for the past couple of days, and with a business trip coming up I wanted to sync a bunch of new films and podcasts to my iPad and iPod, so I needed this to get fixed ASAP. You're a hero!

Aug 21, 2014 12:54 PM in response to jerryt13626by G4UZG,
You can shut down Trusteer endpoint but the sync problem still happens. It was the only security software I didn't think of uninstalling, because it runs out of mind in the background.Still, it not the cause, just part of the problem. There was no update to Trusteer, only Microsoft and Apple.
I will reinstall Endpoint when it appears the problem is solved, as one still cannot be sure if there is malicious intent somewhere.

Aug 21, 2014 1:08 PM in response to G4UZGby Kcpvwill,Stopping the Endpoint service doesn't fix the problem. You have to uninstall the entire Trusteer product to allow iTunes to sync.
The problem is actually down to a program called RapportMgmtService.exe which runs as a service on booting and cannot be disabled. The only way I found to disable this service is to uninstall the entire Trusteer product.

agree, I removed completely and iTunes started to sync as the uninstall completed and is functioning normally and the PC has lost it's lethargy

Aug 21, 2014 3:00 PM in response to Kcpvwillby lisaD-V,Thanks Keith, getting Trusteer off my laptop wasn't straight forward but what a relief to know how to fix. Thanks very much.

Aug 21, 2014 3:25 PM in response to lisaD-Vby MWClove,Lets all just hesitate for a moment. We are removing our banking safeguards in order to backup i-Tunes. I am not sure how our banks will view this if our online bank accounts are vandalised and we expect them to pick up the tab. We need an urgent fix to this problem - which may be malicious in origin. Apple, Microsoft and Trusteer need to get together on this - I presume they are already, but some official statement on this would be welcome. I am not rushing to uninstall Trusteer. I can survive without backing up i-Tunes - for a while at least.
