iPod Battery?

My iPods battery is dying quickly. It'll have less than 10% in a matter of hours without me using it. However when I plug It in to charge it jumps to halfway charged instantly and charges to full in a hour. I've had this ipod for 2 years but I don't usually use it. Should I take it to the apple

After charging for at least 4 hours how long does the full charge last?

What is the iPod doing during that time?

See the following for settings to maximize batter life.

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Likely the battery is dying.
