Bookmarks copied hundreds of times in PC to mac transfer, how do I delete them?

A while back when I switched to mac and had my data transfered, my bookmarks folder from my PC copied over hundreds of times, so now under my bookmarks menu in safari, there are literally hundreds of folders labeled "WindowsPC" and no matter what I do, they won't delete (or maybe there's so many that I don't notice them deleting). Is there any reason for this or any way to delete them? I don't need any of the bookmarks anymore, they're all from 4+ years ago when I got my macbook, so I don't care if they all get deleted.

Info: The store did the transfer, not me, so I don't know what happened. I have a macbook pro with 2.4GHz processor, OSX version 10.8.5. This happened in 2010 when I bought it, I'm just trying to clear some space now since its starting to fill up.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I tried it and it does seem to go away (if I have the folder expanded to view all of the bookmarks within as I delete it, when I hit delete the folder either closes or deletes - there's a visible change of some sort at least). But maybe because it copied so many times I just can't see any progress because I try it about 10 times and give up. I'm wondering if there's any way to highlight multiple folders so that I can delete them all at once (like by holding shift and highlighting multiple items in virtually any other app, except that doesn't work here unfortunately).
